Though summer seems a lifetime away, Paul Hutchinson serves a sublime slice of uplifting House to take the chill of the winters nights with the euphoric My Summer Love. The original mix is a warm, heady concoction, awash with blissful pads, a strong rhythmic beat and playful, funk guitar riff, which delivers a strong Balearic vibe. Vocalist Michelle Millman delivers a strong sultry vocal that is both pleading and intoxicating. Elsewhere Skinner+Bracks offer a tougher, more industrial sounding mix. Milmans vocals are brought to the fore over an undulating synth, before giving way to a sharp pulsating beat. Atmospheric, brooding and hypnotic; this mix serves as welcome complement to the original, with its leaden bass and angular riffs and echoes of metallic sounding vocals. Rounding of the package is a fantastic dub mix, with a pared back arrangement for those who like their release lighter on the vocals.
